Disclosed herein are the derivatives of tetrahydrobenzothiazole represented by the general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a straight-chain alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group and R2 represents a chemical group selected from the group consisting of: <IMAGE> +TR <IMAGE> wherein R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or an acetyl group and R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, methoxy group or acetoxy group and herbicidal compositions containing at least one of the derivatives of tetrahydrobenzothiazole as an active ingredient.
