PURPOSE:To obtain an embossed sheet having a deeply uneven form by a method in which a sheet is supplied between an embossing roll kept at a specific temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin and a back-up roll for embossing process, and the sheet is further pressed, separated from the rolls, and quickly cooled. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 2 taken out of a roll 1 is contacted and heated over its almost semi-circumference by a metal heating roll 5 with an inflammable heater cover 5 through a guide roll 3 and then directed to an embossing roll 6 whose temperature is kept within a temperature range 20-120 deg.C higher than the glass transition temperature of a thermoplastic synthetic resin constituting the sheet 2, where the sheet 2 is pressed by a back-up roll 7 near the contact portion and embossed. The sheet 2 being contacted with the roll 6 is again pressed by the roll 8, cooled by metal cooling rolls 9, 10, and 11, and then wound around a winding roll 12. |
