PURPOSE:To completely inhibit the migration of an electrode substance to another electrode by using a separator consisting of a nonwoven fabric having undergone viscose work. CONSTITUTION:The separator of this invention consists of a nonwoven fabric having undergone viscose work. For the above nonwoven fabric having undergone viscose work, materials obtained by performing viscose work on a nonwoven fabric composed of vinylon and a binder, a nonwoven fabric composed of vinylon, a binder and cellulose fiber, a nylon nonwoven fabric and a polyolefin nonwoven fabric can be used. When a cellulose nonwoven fabric composed of vinylon and a binder is used, it is preferable that the ratio by weight of vinylon to a binder be 60/40-95/5. A vinylon/binder ratio of less than 60/40 will result in easy tear of the nonwoven fabric. A vinylon/binder ratio exceeding 95/5 will result in reduced physical strength of the paper. |
