<p>PURPOSE:To ensure favorable heat response characteristics and printing quality and perform favorable printing on a paper having a low smoothness, by using output light from an optical fiber as a heat source for transfer. CONSTITUTION:Instead of heating by a thermal head, light guided through an optical fiber 5 is directed to an ink to generate heat. An ink ribbon 10 is pressed by a ribbon-pressing member 11, and is fed past an end part of the optical fiber 5. The optical fibers 5 are arranged in one or a plurality of rows in a direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the ribbon, and the other ends thereof are connected to a shutter and a light source. Light is guided to fiber ends located at a printing part, and is directed to a predetermined ink ribbon position. Light is transmitted through a transparent ink base film, and is absorbed by a heat-fusible ink, thereby generating heat, upon which the ink is melted, and is transferred to a transfer paper 3.</p> |
