PURPOSE:To appropriately set relative positions of a printing means and a platen through a simple construction, by supporting a guide rod on a support member fixed to a fixed part of a printer and providing a means for adjusting the position of the support member. CONSTITUTION:A guide rod 2 is supported by frames 10, 10a through support members 12, 12a. To adjust the position of the rod 2, the rod 12 is fixed to the support members 12, 12a with screws 15, 15a so that the rod 2 will not move leftward or rightward, and setscrews 20, 20a are untightened so that eccentric collars 17, 17a can be rotated. Then, a hammer 8 is operated to actually print a character on a paper 9 set on a platen 1, and a printed condition is checked. When a lower part of the printed character is low in density, the collars 17, 17a are rotated to lift the support members 12, 12a upward together with the rod 2 with cam parts 18, 18a of the collars. |
