PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which has excellent strength and impact resistance and scarcely corrodes metal, consisting of a phenolic resin and a functional rubbery copolymer. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. monomer mixture of 1-20% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) monomer (a) contg. an epoxy, hydroxyl, carboxyl or amino group, 15-50% acrylonitrile (b) and 40-80% butadiene or isoprene (c); or 1-20% component (a), 40-99% alkyl or alkoxy (meth)acrylate (d) and 0-30% other copolymerizable monomer (e); or 1-20% component (a), 15-50% component (b), 20-60% component (c) and 5-65% component (d) is emulsion- polymerized in the presence of an emulsifier composed of 1-15pts.wt. ionic activator and 0-10pts.wt. nonionic activator in a ratio of 0-2.0. If desired, an electrolyte contg. no metal is added to the polymn. mixture after polymn. to obtain a functional rubbery polymer (A) contg. K, Na and Ca ions in a quantity of 20ppm or below in total. 1-200pts.wt. component A is blended with 100pts.wt. phenolic resin. |
