PURPOSE:To make easier the separation of a printing paper from a transfer ribbon by further moving a thermal head from a print ending position in a serial type transfer type themal printer. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 11 causes heat to be produced on a given place on the head according to a letter pattern to be printed. The transfer tape 12 used is made of a transferring material with a hot-melt type ink, and a given place of the transfer tape 12 is melted and transferred to a printing paper in response to a heat pattern according to the letter pattern of the thermal head 11. When the head 11 begins to return to the print starting point immediately at the print ending point A, a breakage tends to occur because the transfer tape 12 is still bonded to the recording paper 13. Thus, by advancing the head 11 from the print ending point A toward the point B as much a distance as the length l of the bonded portion, the bonded portion can be removed. |
