PURPOSE:To provide a rubber compsn. contg. no halogen and having excellent flame retardance, by blending ethylene/propylene rubber having a specified iodine value, Al(OH)3 and red phosphorus. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene/propylene rubber (A) having an iodine value of 20% or above is blended with at least 40wt% Al(OH)3 (B), 1-5wt% red phosphorus (C) and optionally 1wt% (per 100g of component B) silane coupling agent (D) (e.g., vinyltrimethoxy-silane). If desired, a reinforcing agent (e.g., carbon black), a softener (e.g., petrolatum), a vulcanizing agent (e.g., sulfur), an accelerator (e.g., a thiuram compd.), etc. are added thereto. |
