<p>The process consists of (a) placing a mould or mandrel of the part to be made between a centre and a back-centre of a prodn. machine, constantly controlling the position and speed of rotation; (b) wrapping a yarn or filament, of glass fibre or other suitable material, impregnated with resin, around the mould or mandrel by means of a first robot which carries a yarn or filament feeder; (c) applying yarn simultaneously to concave moulds by means of a second robot synchronised by a computer programme, which carries the counter-mould or bolster; and (d) once all the robot operations are complete, curing the resin and withdrawing the mould and counter-mould, leaving the part completely finished.</p> |
