PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out the automatic winding and doffing operation, by providing a guide surface and blade of specific shape in a waste strand winding part at the tip part of each winding collet in a continuous winding apparatus using alternately two winding collets. CONSTITUTION:Two winding collets 8 and 8' are provided on a turret 7 and alternately used to carry out continuous winding of a glass fiber strand 5. In the process, a circumferential groove 15 for winding a waste strand is formed on the peripheral surface of a waste strand winding part 9 at the tip part of each winding collet 8 to give a truncated conical strand guide surface 16 in which the sidewall on the side of the collet 8 is tilted to the bottom surface 7. The guide surface 16 is cut into the sidewall at a part near the bottom surface 17 in the axial direction of the collet 8 to form an annular recessed part 18. Thereby, a blade 19 forming an acute angle between the tip part of the guide surface 16 and the recessed part 18 all over the circumference. As a result, the cutting and delivering of the strand 5 in changing the collet 8 are surely carried out. |
