PURPOSE:To measure accurately the coil diameter of a winder by using a working roll such as a substitute even when an auxiliary roll such as a deflection roll is not available. CONSTITUTION:When detector 14 detects the coil diameter of a uncoiler reaching a prescribed value after the start of rolling, gate 16 is opened and the contents of the 2nd memory 12 stored with an imaginary coil diameter are inputted to arithmetic circuit 17. On the basis of the input, this arithmetic circuit 17 performs arithmetic to find rolling conditions. The found rolling conditions are stored in the 3rd memory 18. The stored rolling conditions and the contents of the 3rd memory 12 are processed to find the coil diameter, which is stored in the 4th memory 20. |
