The device consists of a main roller around which the yarn is wrapped and stretched so as to advance without producing oscillations in the yarn, and a separate roller which turns with a surface speed greater than the velocity of the yarn, so that the yarn is stretched in each of its spiral. The outer surface of the main roller tapers gradually, so that its diameter slowly increases in the direction in which the yarn is wrapped on.
