<p>The invention relates to the preparation of sustained release pharmaceutical preparations which comprise a tablet containing a drug and a coating surrounding it in which the coating is insoluble in water and gastrointestinal fluids and which essentially comprises a thermopolymer of poly(vinyl chloride), poly(vinyl acetate) and poly(vinyl alcohol) and a water-soluble pore- creating substance, the said substance creating pores which are distributed at random within the thermopolymer coating, the pore-creating substance being present in a quantity from 1 part to 20 parts for each 1 to 10 parts of thermopolymer and being essentially pharmacologically inactive in the quantity used. The invention also includes a method for preparing the preparation.</p> |
