PURPOSE:To improve operability and usefulness and to improve a picture communication by storing once, an image pickup data in a picture data memory means selecting the picture data picked up by the operator of a transmitter side or the stored picture data with his intention, and supplying it to a remote video system. CONSTITUTION:Video devices 1A and 1B are connected through a video switched network 20, the devices 1A, 1B have the same constitutions, and are respectively provided with camera parts 2A, 2B, picture display parts 4A, 4B, operating parts 6A, 6B and communication control parts 7A, 7B or the like. In picture memories 8A, 8B, the picture data is stored, and a reading and a writing controls to the respective memories 8A, 8B are carried out by writing and reading control parts 9A, 9B and 10A, 10B. Then, the image pickup data is once, stored in the memories 8A, 8B the picture data picked up by the cameras 2A, 2B or the data stored in the memories 8A, 8B is selected by the intention of an operator of the systems 1A, 1B of a transmitter side, supplied to the remote systems 1A, 1B and the operability and the usefulness are improved.
