According to the system which is the subject of the invention, a basic furnishing structure is determined by the assembly, by means of rapid joins, of a rigid frame carrying the doors of one or more elemental dihedral units which constitute the rear plane and the respective vertical planes. The basic structure is able to achieve polygonal-base furnishing lines, with the essential particular feature that said rigid frames carrying the doors may be located also in relation to the sides of the furniture or even to its rear region, in the case of "island" furniture units, thus enabling all the visible faces of the furniture to be opened. The rigid frames carrying the doors allow adaptation of its longitudinal measurement, keeping the width measurement of said doors standard, whilst the shelves are non-structural and have no support relationship with the front frame. <IMAGE>
