PURPOSE:To greatly increase discharge performance, by using lead powder with increased specific surface area and enhanced oxidation degree via reaction with ozone, as battery active substance. CONSTITUTION:Lead powder, whose oxidation degree is enhances with a part of its surface put in a high oxidation state of bivalent or more and whose specific surface area is also increased via reaction with ozone is used as active substance, especially as positive electrode active substance. There, lead powder is obtained by crushing and grinding lead lumps in such as a rotating cylindrical container and at the same time letting the powder make contact and react with ozone carried by air or oxygen to enhance its oxidation degree. And the oxidation degree of the powder is further increased from that of bivalent lead oxide to higher degree of tri-lead tetroxide. |
