PURPOSE:To make favorable the color forming characteristics of a thermal recording paper, by incorporating 1-benzyloxy-4-ethoxynaphthalene in a recording layer as a color forming accelerator, in a thermal recording paper comprising a leuco compound and an organic acid for developing the color of the leuco compound by reacting therewith as main constituents. CONSTITUTION:Since 1-benzyloxy-4-ethoxynaphthalene is lowly sublimable and has an excellent color forming accelerating effect, it is possible to obviate a lowering in color forming sensitivity due to losing of a sensitizer from a thermal recording layer when a recording paper is preserved for a long period of time. The amount of 1-benzyloxy-4-ethoxynaphthalene used is 21-40wt% based on the total solid content of the thermal recording layer, and the amount of a binder used is 1-30wt% based on the total solid content of the recording layer, whereby the above objects can be attained. |
