PURPOSE:To prevent the sheet of copying paper, on which a copying process is made halfway, from being useless when a paper jam takes place, by stopping the successive copying process and, on the other hand, continuing the copying process to copying paper preceding the jamming paper. CONSTITUTION:When copying paper is not carried normally and no copying paper is detected by each paper detector 37-40, a controller performs jam control in accordance with the jam occurring place and, at the same time, cause a jam warning lamp to light for indicating where the jam takes place. When no paper is detected by the paper detectors 37-39 (when a paper jam takes place), the operation of a paper feeding section 6 after the jam is stopped and copying processes to the paper fed before the jam takes place are caused to be completed. When no paper is detected by the paper detector 40 (when a jam occurs), the operation of the 4th carrying section 13 is also stopped in addition to the operation related to the paper detector 39. |
