A miniature push-button switch contains an elastomeric deflecting membrane (4) and a contact element (7) consisting of conductive rubber for electrical connection between two stationary contacts (8, 9). A plunger (17) having a low spring constant forms an energy store before the membrane (diaphragm) (4) deflects, which energy store provides the necessary follow-up movement and contact pressure for reliable contact to be made after the membrane (4) has deflected, in the event of a key (18) being operated slowly and without any follow-up. The stationary contacts (8, 9) are formed by pieces of wire which can be inserted into a housing (1). <IMAGE>
