The present invention relates to a wheelchair-lifting device for a vehicle with controls on the steering wheel, adapted to use by the disabled, particularly those who have disabled lower limbs. This lifting device comprises a support element 7, for example multi-purpose carrying bars, a rigid frame secured to the support element 7 and to the bottom of the body of the vehicle, a rigid body 25 capable of accommodating a wheelchair 29, a system for lifting the body 25 in terms of translation, and a control box allowing the body 25 to be set in motion. The invention gives the said disabled individuals complete freedom of access to their vehicle. <IMAGE>
