PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration by an oxidizing atmosphere such as ozone generated in the stage of electrostatic corona charging and to form a photosensi tive body having excellent electrophotographic characteristics even after repeated uses by treating the surface of a photoconductive layer with a solubilizing solvent. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the photoconductive layer of the photosensitive body which has the photoconductive layer formed by dispersing phthalocyanine photoconductive powder into a binder on a conductive base is treated with the soluble solvent. The method for treating said layer with the soluble solvent includes a method for impregnating the photosensitive body in the soluble solvent or spraying the vapor of the solvent thereto or a method for coating the solvent thereon. The treatment time is preferably 10min-6hr although the time varies with the methods for the treatment and the kind of the solvent. The resin of the photosensitive body surface is sometimes deteriorated when the treatment time is longer than needed. Toluene and xylene which are the solubilizing solvent are particularly useful solvent. |
