PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform accurate inspection within a short time by automating the measurement of backlash quantity, by fixing one of a pair of gears and revolving the other gear in this state to partially pick up the image of the other gear to perform image processing. CONSTITUTION:A backlash quantity detection means is constituted of a microcomputer and the camera 60 connected thereto. After one gear 54 was fixed by gear fixing means 10, 14, the other gear 52 is revolved to a positive direction by revolving means 16, 32 to be engaged with one gear 54 and the gear 52 is revolved to the reverse direction to be engaged with the gear 54. In both engagement states, the image of the gear 52 is picked up by a camera 60 while the picked-up images are subjected to image processing to calculate the backlash quantity of a pair of the gears. Further, the microcomputer constituted of CPU and a memory compares the calculated backlash quantity of the gears 52, 54 with reference value to judge the same and the quality of both gears 52, 54 is accurately inspected within a short time. |
