Substrate specific L-glutamic acid oxidase was prepd. from streptomyces sp. A7700 FERM P-6241 or A8063 FERM P-6242 for clinical analysis. Thus, streptomyces sp. FERM P-6241 grown on the medium contg. peptone 0.5, beef ext. 0.3, yeast ext. 0.1 and malt ext. 0.5% at 26≰C for 4days was havested and centrifuged. The cultured cells were ground with glass beads in mortar and extracted with 20mM phosphate buffer(pH7.0). The extract contained L-glutamic acid oxidase(H2O2) 0.13u per ml. The oxidase is used to detect L-glutamic acid in e.g. fermentation liq., beverages, serum etc.
