<p>A structural member (11), which may be used as a spar in the wing construction of an aircraft, comprising two elongated members (13) of channel or angle cross-section bonded together in side-by-side relationship. The structural member (11) is preferably formed of reinforced plastics material. The channel members (13) are preferably disposed in back-to-back relation and have a rigid core (14) formed of cellular material interposed therebetween. The two members (13) may first be formed as a single tubular member of resin covered wound rovings and then divided longitudinally before bonding to form the desired cross-section.</p> |
