The invention relates to a method and a device for renovating damaged and/or worn refractory linings in industrial furnaces, such as pit furnaces, shaft furnaces, electric melting furnaces or the like. These furnaces are of tank-shaped design, upwardly open and closed with a cover. To repair the lining, the cover is removed and, by means of a support, a lining plate is moved into the furnace and the point of damage is covered with this. The repair mass is pressed into the point of damage through the lining plate.
