Inductive displacement sensor

In this sensor, consisting of two induction coils of the same direction of induction and coaxially arranged next to one another, in the interior of which a coil core of magnetisable material is axially movably supported in dependence on the displacement to be measured, a compensation coil, preferably constructed as dual coil, is arranged between the two induction coils and is dimensioned in such a manner that its magnetic field is directed to be equal to the magnetic fields of the induction coils and in the centre area of the pick-up effects such an amplification of the magnetic field that this compensates for the drop in induction at the oppositely polarised ends of the induction coils facing one another. The length of the coil core and its range of movement are dimensioned in such a manner that it protrudes into a part of each of the induction coils through the compensation coil in each of its positions. <IMAGE>
