PURPOSE:To prevent the surfaces of electrodes from being damaged due to the pulling-out of a spacer, by securing an insulator of prescribed thickness between the facing sides of the electrodes so that the insulator is located off the electron beam passage holes of the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 7 is pinch-held between a first grid electrode 1 and a second grid electrode 2. The insulator 7 and the electrodes 1, 2 are then fixedly implanted in electrode-holding glass 4. Since the insulator 7 of prescribed thickness is pinch-held between the facing sides of the first and the second grid electrodes 1, 2 before their fixation, a prescribed distance is set between the electrodes. Because the insulator 7 is located off electron beam passage holes 8, an electron beam is not hindered from passing. |
