PURPOSE:To improve the heavy load discharge characteristics of a battery by using an electrolyte the main electrolyte component of which is guanidine chloride, guanidine perchlorate, or a mixture of them. CONSTITUTION:Guanidine chloride, guanidine perchlorate, or a mixture of them is used as the main electrolyte of a dry battery a positive active material, negative active material, and an electrolyte of which are manganese dioxide, zinc, and an aqueous solution of an organic salt respectively. For example, a mixture of 50.8 parts by weight of manganese dioxide, 8.5 parts of acetylene black, 9.1 parts of guanidine chloride, 4.2 parts of minor additives, and 27.4 parts of water is used. A positive compound of said composition is formed, and a paper lined dry battery with same structure to conventional dry batteries is constituted. Thus, a dry battery which exhibits good heavy load discharge characteristics and the stable performance not only in a lower temperature but also in a room temperature comparing with conventional dry batteries using a hydrochloric acid salt of a lower amine such as monomethylamine hydrochloride or monoethylamine hydrochloride can be obtained. |
