PURPOSE:To effectively suppress fogging in an exposed part and the negative image appearing in a highly exposed part and to obtain a good direct positive image without decreasing the image density by executing the developing process for an internal latent image type silver halide photographic sensitive material in the presence of a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:The developing process in a method for forming the positive image by subjecting a photosensitive material provided with >=1 layers of emulsion layers incorporated therein with internal latent image type silver halide particles of which the particle surfaces are not preliminarily fogged to image exposing, then to the devel oping process after exposing the entire surface thereof or in the presence of a fogging agent is executed in the presence of the compd. expressed by formula I [Y is formula II (R1, R2 are respectively H, alkyl, etc. but are not simultaneously H), formula III (R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, amino, etc., Z is O, S), -NHSO2R4 (R4 is synonymous with R1), halogen thioalkyl, etc., X is H, -OH, etc.]. Such compd. is used by being added into a photosensitive material element or being incorporated into a developing process bath. The fogging of the exposed part or the negative image appearing in the highly exposed part is thereby suppressed and the good direct positive image is obtd. without the decrease in the image density. |
