发明名称 SEGMENT CONNECTION TYPE ROCKET MOTOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate manufacture and assembly of the segment and improve the yield of propellant by a method wherein the end face of the propellant grain is provided with a curved surface in the rocket motor in which the segment consisting of a short cylinder filled with the propellant grain are connected mutually. CONSTITUTION:Propellant is cast into a mold in the manufacturing step of a segment so that the end part of a propellant block 2b is provided with the curved surface, therefore, bubbles become easy to release along the extension 13b of protruded curved surface of an insulator 12b even if the bubbles are produced in the slurry of propellant. Further the end part of the propellant becomes the curved surface, therefore, the tight connection of respective propellant blocks is facilitated upon connecting the segment even if there is slight collapse in the mold while it is not necessary to provide the propellant, cast in the mold, with a machining allowance and whereby the rate of utilization of material is increased. Upon connecting the segments, an end face restricter and a sealing member, shielding radiation heat, become unnecessary since the connecting part of the propellant is covered with insulators 12a-12c and is provided with the curved surface upon the manufacturing step already, whereby the connecting work of the segment may be facilitated and the reproducibility thereof may be improved.
