PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound useful as an intermediate for organic syntheses, in high yield, with suppressed side reactions, by the addition reaction of cyclohexene with nitrosyl chloride in liquid sulfur dioxide in the presence of a specific amount of hydrogen chloride. CONSTITUTION:2-Chloro-1-nitrosocyclohexane dimer and 2-chlorocyclohexanone oxime are prepared in high yield by reacting cyclohexene with nitrosyl chloride in the presence of 3-30mol%, preferably 5-15mol% of hydrogen chloride based on nitrosyl chloride, using liquid sulfur dioxide as a solvent, at a temperature between -60 deg.C and the boiling point of liquid sulfur dioxide. It is preferable to supply cyclohexene in excess to nitrosyl chloride or to keep unreacted cyclohexene in the reaction system at a concentration of 1-30% for suppressing the side reactions and obtaining the objective compound in high yield. |
