PURPOSE:To prevent the forgery of recording information by transfer and the modification of the recording information by tampering by providing a magnetic layer to be used as a magnetic recording medium, a base material layer for obtaining mechanical strength and a reflection layer having a prescribed region where the surface reflectivity is irregular. CONSTITUTION:The base material layer 1 for increasing the mechanical strength of a magnetic card is formed by using, for example, a polyester material for electrical service. The magnetic layer 3 to constitute the region where information is magnetically recorded is formed on the bottom surface of the layer 1. The reflection layer 5 for which, for example, a thin aluminum film is used is formed atop the layer 1. The prescribed region of the surface on the side where the reflection layer 5 is not joined to the layer 1 is subjected to a working treatment to a fine rugged shape by using an intaglio printing technique. The region not subjected to the working to the recessed shape are therefore made different in reflectivity. A protective layer 7 to protect the reflection layer 5 is formed atop the layer 5. The forgery of the recording information by the transfer and the modification of the recording information by the tempering are thus prevented. |
