PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability by having a layer contg. an ester in which part of the carbon chain of the residual hydrocarbon group is substd. with sulfur atoms. CONSTITUTION:The ester in which part of the carbon chain of the residual hydrocarbon group is substd. with sulfur atoms is incorporated into this medium. This ester is expressed by the formula I as the general formula. In the formula, R<1> is the residual hydrocarbon group of 4-20 C, Y is an alkylene group of >=2 total C and may contain -O-, -S- in the carbon chain. R<2> is the residual hydrocarbon group of 3-20 C. R<1> and R<2> are preferably an alkyl group and a bivalent group contg. the residual ethylene group or propylene group such as -(CH2)2 or -(CH2)3 as the unit is preferable as Y is terms of the lubricity. |
