PURPOSE:To feed an original by one page each or two pages each to an original placing surface, and to make a device cope with a size of a sheet, or various constraints or requests of the original, by providing a page mode designating means to an operating part, and an interlocking page mode switching means on a driving control part. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with whether a page mode designating button 27 is designated to a one page mode side or designated to a two page mode side, a page mode switching means 31 of a control part 25 is set to one side of them. When the one page mode is designated, an ADF 3 feeds an original 21 by one sheet each onto a platen 16 irrespective of a total number of sheets of the original, a reader 2 executes a scan of the original, and information of the original is outputted by a suitable form. When the two page mode is designated, the number of original sheets odd/even setting button 26 is selected in accordance with whether the total number of sheets of the original is even or odd, and in case of an even page, first of all, whether the original exists on an inlet tray 19 or not is checked, and in case when the original exists, a pickup roller 22 and paper feed belts 17, 18 are operated, and two sheets of originals are fed to an original read position on the platen 16. |
