PURPOSE:To provide high porosity in a sintered nickel porous member to be employed as the electrode substrate by specifying the volume ratio of carbonyl nickel powder against the undried slurry ands the volume ratio of boring agent powder against the undried slurry. CONSTITUTION:Slurry produced by diffusing solid matter composed of carbonyl nickel powder A and non-aqueous boring agent powder B into water soluble organic macromolecular aqueous solution is applied onto the conductive core member then dried to sinter the powder A under reducing atmosphere. When defining the volume ratio of powder A, B against the yet-dried slurry are x and y while (volume of dried slurry/volume or yet-dried slurry)X100 is volume maintaining rate and the values of x and y to be obtained when applying the line representative of the proportional relation between x, y and respective volume maintaining rate for the slurry containing only the powder A or B are xo, yo, following relation must be satisfied. 0<x<xo, 0<y<yo, 0<(x/y)<(xo/ yo). |
