PURPOSE:To ensure favorable recording quality free of scattering of density, blurrig or the like, by a method wherein a predetermined weight value is affixed to each piece of current and past recording informations for each heating element in a thermal head, and the weighted pieces of information are added, thereby performing correction. CONSTITUTION:A pulse width memory 40 stores information indicative of a recording pulse width for each dot calculated by a Ti calculator 50, and the information stored in the memory 40 is renewed each time a scanning line to be stored progresses. Accordingly, Ti-1 outputted from the memory 40 and fed back into the Ti calculator 50 is information indicative of the recording pulse width for the preceding scanning line, to the calculator 50. An Xi calculator 20 consists of calculators 21, 22, 23 and 24, each of which is constituted of a weighting circuit 25 and a Zi/Xi converting circuit 26. The recording pulse width Ti thus obtained is determined in consideration of the difference between the impressing timings of recording pulses C1, C2, and energy impressed on each of the heating elements is controlled. Accordingly, it is made possible to obtain excellent printing quality free of scattering of density, blurring or the like even at the time of driving at high speed. |
