PURPOSE:To avoid such troubles as a reduction of a generated torque and the like by controlling an ignition timing at a crank angle, where a combustion pressure is maximum or the maximum value, when an ignition control is judged to be out of order based on a detected combustion pressure oscillation. CONSTITUTION:Combustion pressure oscillations of an engine are detected by a detecting means A, and the maximum combustion pressure and its corresponding crank angle are memoried by a memory means B based on the resultant. Then a judging means C makes a judgement as to whether an ignition timing control is normal or not based on results detected by the detecting means A. And when the ignition timing control is judged to be out of order, an ignition timing is controlled by an ignition timing control means D based on the memories stored in the memory means B. Thus, such troubles as a reduction of a generated torque, a reduction of fuel consumption, an increase in exhaust gas temperature, the occurrence of knocking and the like can be avoided. |
