Wire rope comprises core strand and outer strand having interstices between strands containing flexible preformed filler elements of thermoplastic material, of the same shape as the interstices. At least one filler element has an embedded reinforcing core, e.g. of wire or hemp. The rope retains flexibility without cracking and peeling of the filler material. |
