A photoradiator has an elongate light conducting member which is supplied with converged light at one end thereof. Light radiating portions are arranged on the light conductor so that the light propagating through the light conductor may stream out in any desired light amount distribution along the axis of the light conductor. The radiating portions comprise spaced annular strips or spiral strips each being made of a material whose refractive index is larger than that of the light conductor.
