CONSTITUTION:The compression signal 7 detected by a compressive force measuring instrument 6 is converted into the signal of compressive stress acting in the longitudinal direction of the rolling stock 3 between stands by a computing element 8. This compressive stress and the signal of the target compressive stress outputted from a compressive stress setting device 9 and the output signal 13 expressing the roll peripheral speed Va from the speed detector 14 of the driving motor 5 of a compressor 2 are used. And the speed changing command 12 of the motor 5 is operated by the computing element 11 according to the equation, V=(1+Ksigma)Va/(1+Ksigma2), (whereas K: shape constant).
