PURPOSE:To provide a printing head small in size and capable of being operated at high speed to print with a favorable quality, by construction wherein a linear displacement of a minute displacement generating element is transmitted to a printing wire through enlarging it by the principle of a lever. CONSTITUTION:The center of rotation (point of application for a linear displacement F) 2c of a rotational displacement generating part 4 constituted of leaf springs 2a, 2b and the center of rotation 3c of a rotational displacement generating part 4 constituted of lead springs 3a, 3b are apart from each other by a spacing D, and a straight line E connecting the centers of rotation 2c and 3c is substantially perpendicular to the direction of displacement F of a piezoelectric element. By setting the spacing D to be small, the ratio of the arm length L to a spacing D, namely, the displacement enlarging ratio can be set to be high. By thus enlarging the minute displacement of a piezoelectric element efficiently and without distortion, it is possible to reduce the size of the head, enhance the printing speed and print with favorable quality. |
