GRINDING MACHINE FOR USING WITH ROLLIN MILL

Grinding machine for the rolls of a rolling mill consists of a main body which can be moved on two guide columns parallel to the rolls. A support plunger with a springloaded face can be moved towards the rolls to press a moving grinding band against the roll surface. Specifically, the body of a grinding machine can be moved by a chain drive along two guide columns parallel to the work rolls. A support plunger is joined through a crosspiece to two hydraulic cylinders to apply a pressure on the thrust mamber loaded by a spring. A grinding band is moved by a driven winding-up spool from an unwinding spool and is urged by the member against the roll surface. A load cell controls the grinding pressure.
