<p>FLEXIBLE DISC RECORDING AND/OR REPRODUCING APPARATUS In an apparatus for recording and/or reproducing signals on a flexible disc which is freely rotatable between opposed walls of a substantially flat cartridge, a holding device is movable in respect to a base member from a cartridge receiving position to a loaded position at which a cartridge in the holding device is operatively disposed for engagement of the disc by a drive extending from the base members through first openings in the cartridge walls centered in respect to the disc for rotating the latter and for a head mounted on the base member to extend through second openings in the cartridge walls to record or reproduce signals on a surface of the disc, a guide plate and/or a positioning plate are mounted on the base member and holding device, respectively, to define at least one disc guiding surface which, when the cartridge is disposed in its operative position, extends into a respective one of the second openings in the cartridge walls and confronts a respective surface of the disc adjacent the head for positioning the rotated flexible disc in the region of the head, and a soft fibrous covering, for example, constituted by plush-like filaments or by a non-woven fabric, is provided on each disc guiding surface for protecting the flexible disc from damage due to contact therewith.</p> |
