High speed thick grinding stone is produced by laminating of a no. of thin discs of 2-10mm thickness, and cakinating the laminated stack by heating to 180-200deg. C. Each thin disc is made by pressmoulding a mixt. of polishing powder and thermosetting resin contg. a sheet of a glass fiber cloth oriented parallel to the lateral surfaces of the finished disc. The resin content is 2026%, and may be phenolic. Grinding stone has high strength and porosity.
