PURPOSE:To permit the easy packing of sand to the mold part in an expendable pattern and to simplify full-mold casting by dividing the mold part of the expendable pattern, packing the sand into the mold parts and pouring a molten metal therein to evaporate and expend the expendable pattern. CONSTITUTION:The split expendable pattern 12 exposed with the mold part 16 of the expendable pattern where the sand is hardly packed to the parting plane 14 side is formed. The sand 11 is then put into the mold parts 16 of the respective expendable patterns 12 and is held by paper 13. The split expendable patterns 12 are mated on the parting plane 14 and are assembled, then the paper 13 is removed. The assembled expendable pattern 10 is inserted into a molding flask 18 and the sand 11 is packed into the flask 18. The molten metal is directly poured into the expendable pattern 10 to evaporate and expend the expendable pattern 10, by which the casting is formed. |
