PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic compounded with a water-soluble peptide and/or amino acid produced by the hydrolysis of vegetable seed protein, capable of keeping fair skin by its high water-retainability and film-forming property and giving flexibility to the hair. CONSTITUTION:A vegetable seed having a protein content of >=6wt% (e.g. wheat, soybean, cashew nut, etc.) is pulverized and hydrolyzed e.g. by acid decomposition, enzymatic decomposition, etc. The obtained slurry material is filtered to obtain clear filtrate. A concentrated liquid having a concentration of 20wt% and produced by the thermal concentration of the filtrate is added to a cosmetic in an amount of 0.5-5%, or a dried powder produced from the filtrate is added to a cosmetic at a rate of 0.1-10%. The softness and manageability of hair can be improved and the damage of hair with permanent wave lotion, etc., can be prevented by adding the concentrated liquid to a hair cosmetic such as hair rinse, hair cream, etc., in an amount of about 1-10%. |
