The production process is for a cow milk immunoglobulin prepn. contg. antibodies against Streptococcus mutans, and with dental caries-inhibiting effect. The prepn. is intended for oral admin., and the cows are immunised with Streptococcus mutans by intramuscular injection in order to promote the formation of the antibodies. Milk is collected from the cows when the level of antibodies in their serum reaches a max. value. The thus collected milk is used to form milk powder contg. antibodies and which is employed for the prodn. of the caries-inhibiting prepn.. This prepn. can be added to 1-5 equal parts of water to form a mouth wash to be used daily to inhibit the formation of Streptococcus mutans colonies on the tooth enamel. The product can also be added to a sugar-free sweet or other form of food, and 25 per cent or more of the immunoglobin can be worked into the food item. A further method of admn. is for the prepn. to be added to customary tooth powderor paste, the onset of Streptococcus mutans colonies, i.e. a complete single drink of milk produces an adequate contact between the teeth and immunoglobulin. |
