The device (10) mounted on a nozzle-type weaving machine comprises a rotary drum (12) on which the weft yarn (35) is wound. The axis of the drum (12) is perpendicular to the direction of the weft insertion (W). Preferably the drum (12) rotates continuously. A weft guide (40) is movable between two positions. In its first position, the guide (40) is on a tangent to the periphery of the drum and thus enables the weft to leave the drum. In its second position, the guide (40) is situated on the axis of the drum (12) and prevents the weft, by means of an eyelet (45) deviating the weft, from leaving the drum (12) in the time interval during which the weft is not inserted in the weaving machine. |
