PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer material prevented from fusing to a thermal head at the time of printing and capable of being moved smoothly, wherein a base is formed of a plastic film containing a lubricant and/or a surface active agent, and a thermally transferrable ink layer is provided on one side of the base. CONSTITUTION:The base is formed of a plastic film, preferably, a film of a linear saturated polyester, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, containing a lubricant and/or a surface active agent, e.g., sodium dodecylsulfonate, polydimethylsiloxane of the formula (wherein R' is CH3), sorbitan tristearate or a >=5C perfluoroalkylsulfonate, preferably, in an amount of 0.05-5wt%, and a thermally transferrable ink layer comprising a pigment, e.g., carbon black, and carnauba wax or the like is provided on one side of the base to obtain the objective thermal transfer material. |
