PURPOSE:To form a silver halide color photosensitive material having extremely high image sharpness without spoiling the image quality of a print even if an enlarging magnification is large by using a diffusible development inhibitor- releasing compd. for a development inhibitor-releasing compd. and maintaining the total film thickness so as not to exceed the specific thickness in the stage of development. CONSTITUTION:The development inhibitor-releasing compd. is the diffusible development inhibitor-releasing compd. having >=0.4 degree of diffusion and the film thickness of the photosensitive material in the stage of development does not exceed 40mu. The diffusible DIR compd. signifies the compd. which can form a development inhibiting material having high diffusibility in the stage of development and in this case the DIR compd. which can desorb the development inhibiting material having the high diffusibility of particularly >=0.4 degree of diffusion, more preferably <=0.95 degree of diffusion is preferable and the DIR coupler is more particularly preferable among the DIR compds.
